Established in 1905 by Edgar James Wicks, E J Wicks continues to be a family run business dedicated to providing quality products and a high-class service to amateur and professional riders and trainers of horses. Now run by Sophie and Richard Fynn, the business marries the traditional with the innovative, bringing new and exciting products to our customers whilst still providing horse, rider and stable essentials from carefully chosen suppliers.
Clipper blades not performing well? Make use of our blade sharpening service for £12.50 where blades are sent off for professional sharpening. Clippers can also be serviced to ensure they are running smoothly and performing at their best.
Rugs delivered to the shop are sent off for cleaning, and re-proofing if requested, on a fortnightly basis with pick up generally being a Wednesday.
Our team of talented saddlers enjoy a challenge and requested bespoke items can often bring this. Recently completed bespoke products include a leather covered banister with brass studs, reconditioning of antique leather hat boxes, English leather show bridle made to the customer’s specifications and bonnet straps for classic cars. We are able to emboss leather items with letters and numbers or supply and fit engraved nameplates as required. Click the link below to see images of some of our bespoke work.
Whether your rug has developed a rip, lost a strap or requires a new wither our hard working seamstresses are able to carry out all types of repairs to stable rugs, turnout rugs, exercise sheets of all colours, fly rugs and travel boots amongst other items. If rugs requiring repair are dirty we ask for them to be cleaned prior to repairing to maintain hygiene standards for our seamstresses.
